Wild Mother Path is a doula agency focused on women in their postpartum period so that they thrive and step into motherhood with confidence. Your postpartum should be a time of bliss where you can focus all your attention and energy on bonding with your new baby. I was born in sunny Florida and raised in the wonderful state of North Carolina. As a 10 year military spouse I've moved many, many times and am thrilled to have landed back at home in North Carolina. My family includes my husband of over 20 wonderful years and our four amazing children. We live right outside of Charlotte in Midland, NC and love being out of the busy-ness of the city but close enough to the city to do the cool stuff.

It was then that I decided to get certified as a labor doula. The birth of my daughter opened doors in my soul that I didn’t know existed, and in response, I have developed an extreme passion for helping women and their families feel empowered, safe, and nurtured during birth. I want to set you and your partner up with the tools to take charge of — and ENJOY — your birth as well as provide a space in which you feel the most loved and comfortable to welcome your newest blessing to the world, on your terms. Throughout my journey supporting clients of all cultures, beliefs, races, religions, and more, I can say that I have grown as a person and as a birth worker.

Staring back at me from my bucket list was “be with a woman while she gives birth.” I realized that dream in 2005, facilitating the birth experience of my dear friends’ first child. The ecstatic moment of their son’s first breath convinced me of my calling to be a doula. Since that day, I have helped over a thousand people on their journey to parenthood and/or birthing.

Rebecca’s passion for helping women reach their health goals developed from her own experiences with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Her oldest daughter was born at home after a healthy pregnancy and her twin daughters were born naturally at a maternity center after another healthy pregnancy. She was able to use therapeutic foods as well as get the support she needed to have the pregnancies and births that she always imagined having. There is a lack of support for women who want to reach and maintain their optimal health before, during and after their pregnancy. Her experiences, education and passion to help women during a time that can feel stressful, lonely and full of guessing games can lead to a more calm, fulfilling and satisfying motherhood. My goal is to take care of you, nurture, love you and help empower you to plan and prepare for the birth that YOU want no matter what that looks like.

I watched my mother — in awe as she exhibited such strength and grace during the birthing process. I knew from then on that I would never get enough of witnessing and playing a small part in the beautiful miracle of new life as it enters this world. I am now married and have three precious children of my own. My oldest son was born with a severe congenital heart defect. Only half of his heart developed correctly, so he arrived fighting for his life and immediately needed the first of three open-heart surgeries in order to survive. After having two more surgeries before the age of three, he is now stable and doing remarkably well.

The doulas work as a team, and you can be rest assured that your well-being and needs are our number one priority. Each of the Charlotte Doulas has been hand-selected, so you can feel confident in the doulas on our team. They have completed the accredited curriculum and are prepared to provide judgement-free support to you and your family. One of the greatest benefits of our team approach is that we utilize an on-call schedule to make certain that one of your doulas is always rested, ready and available to you when you’re ready to birth your baby.

We don’t leave any part of care out of scope (education, nutrition, bodily mechanics) — we treat you as a WHOLE person. We believe in “continuity of care” and don’t commonly reassign doulas (unless requested by our client). I support families during the transitional period after birth/ upon returning home with a newborn. I’m here to teach you all you need to know about your new little one, help take some day to day tasks off your to-do list or simply care for baby while you get some much needed rest! We will talk about your goals and concerns to develop a postpartum plan unique for you. The first birth I ever witnessed was in 2000 at the age of 13 and I was hooked!
